To reserve a new, unpublished gene name:

1. In order to ensure that your gene name is unique, use Global Gene Hunter to search for your gene name. If you have any questions about whether your gene name is appropriate, please refer to the Gene Naming Guidelines

2. Enter the information below to get a Gene Registry Form:

To update information about named genes or about names not in CGD:

To let us know about publication of a gene name not in CGD

OR

To update any information about a named gene, i.e.:

• You are still working on a gene with a Reserved Name and wish to extend the reservation another year.
• You have published a paper using a name that was Reserved, and would like us to make the name Standard.
• You would like to suggest another name for a gene which has a Reserved or a Standard Name.
• You would like to add, update, or correct information on a Locus Page.
