This directory contains data related to homology among C. albicans, C. auris, C. dubliniensis, C. glabrata, C. parapsilosis, and between Candida species and other organisms. The orthology subdirectory contains data pertaining to orthology mappings among Candida species in CGD and between Candida species and model yeasts S. cerevisiae and S. pombe. The best_hits subdirectory contains BLASTP-based mappings, which are made with lower-stringency requirements compared to the ortholog mappings. If a protein lacks an ortholog in one of the other species, we search to see if there is a best-hit. The format of the pairwise ortholog and Best Hit files (updated September 2012) contains three tab-delimited columns for each organism. For each organism, the columns display: - the systematic name of the gene - the standard/genetic name of the gene (if one exists) - the database identifier for the gene The specific procedures used for generation of these mappings is described here: http://www.candidagenome.org/cgi-bin/reference/reference.pl?dbid=CAL0142012 These best hits data are available in the same format as the files containing the ortholog data. The ortholog files are available at http://www.candidagenome.org/download/homology/orthologs/
